Neon Galaxy

Hey all so its a new day and a new manicure I hope you all enjoy this one because I know I do.

So I started this manicure with a white base to  make the neon colors pop better. I used Daredevil by Sinful colors over all my nails but my ring finger on that finger I used Nina ultra pro in Solar flare. Once dry I used a make sponge and dabbed on some white in random places on my nail. Then on the pink nails I used the neon yellow and sponged it over the white and a little bit on the pink to get an orange color. Then on the yellow I did the same thing using the pink.

After sponging and blending I topped with Orly shine on crazy diamond. Then using a white stripper I added some dots and star shapes and then topped them all off with a qdtc (quick dry top coat). I cleaned up and that's it all done.

I wanted this to be super easy so I only used 3 colors the glitter is optional and so are the white dots and star shapes. I really like how this turned out and I can't wait to try out Pastel galaxy nails. let me know what you all think in the comments below and if you try then out I would like to see them.

Braided Nail

Hey all I know it has been about a month and a half since I posted but...you know life happens and I started a food blog and I also started knitting again which lead me to open an online store. So you know I've been super busy :-)

Anyway I am going to do my best to post more once or twice a week. But I am back with this super cute and easy manicure.

I used Wetnwild megalast polishes in I need and refresh Mint, On a trip and Wet cement. The only tool I used was a large dotting tool and the polish brush it self. Now if you don't have a dotting tool don't fret you can use a bobby pin, an old dried up ink pin, a pencil eraser or even the end of a makeup brush.

On my ring finger I started out with a coat of On a trip, then on a slight angle I added I need a Refresh Mint, on the other side under that I added a strip of Wet Cement and so on intil I ran out of nail. I let that dry as I painted the rest on my nails with two coats of Wet cement. Then using my large dotting tool I placed a big dot and little dot at the base of my nail. Once they were all slightly dry I added a layer of top coat ,cleaned up the sides and thats it.

I really love this manicure it tured out really nice and I hope you all like it too. Ttyl,

Stephanie

Random shapes

So as no surprise I've been gone for a little while and well I'm back with this fun little manicure.

I wanted to do something with these really nice holographic nail polishes that I got and I really wasn't impressed with a lot of things that I saw.... Well to be honest I was impressed but they were already done and my husband kind of challenge me to do something that I hadn't really seen yet. So this is what I came up with I put the design black base cuz I just figured that it would really cool that way and it really does, unfortunately the pictures that I have don't know off the design that great but they still look pretty awesome in my opinion.

What I used:
Literary Lacquers:
A straw
Star stickers and the sticker outline
A cut up makeup wedge
A small dotting tool

I started with the black base completely dry which is why I use a fast drying black nail polish. Once the black polish was dry I put the sticker on a random spot on my nail and sponged one of the holographic polishes over it and quickly removed the sticker. As for the straw I just dipped it into a puddle of nail polish and then press it on my nail. As for the dots well those just kind of speak for themselves ;-)
Once done I topped with two layers of a fast drying top coat and that was it. I really like how it turned out and I hope you guys enjoy them too if you would like to see how I get them I can easily do a video or do a picture tutorial for you just let me know in the comments down below.

Well that's all for now until next time.

Neon Quatrefoil Nails

Neon quatrefoil nails...... I mean hello that is just awesome so I had to do it.

Quatrefoil nails are really popular right now and its summer so neons are also popular right now so I just put them together.

What I used:

Black polish
White polish
Neon yellow polish
Matte top coat
Dotting tools

I started off with my base colors white on my ring finger and black on all the rest. Once my base colors were dry I started the quatrefoil design with my neon yellow 4 dots in a plus pattern, on the side of the nail I did 3 dots of black to offset the neon. Then on the other fingers I used the white for a base so the yellow would pop.

This is the simple version of the quatrefoil design. The advanced one has an outline and little lines coming out of the open corners. If you would like me to try my hand at the design then please let me know.

So what do you all think about the quatrefoil design? Do you like it? Will you try it out? Let me know down below

Jelly Sandwich manicure

I have seen all kinds of jelly sandwich manicures, mostly with glitter and designs but none using crackle nail polish. So that's what I wanted to do.

I started with an opaque color ,then using a sliver crackle I  made a diagonal line. Once dry I added one coat of my sheer or jelly polish and waited for that to dry. As soon as it was dry I added a diagonal line on the other side and waited for it to dry. When is was dry I added one more coat of my jelly polish over the whole nail then I topped it with a quick drying top coat.

one coat of jelly
two coats of jelly.
AS you can see (hopefully) one side is more jelly then the other. It is kind of subtle but I like it that way since it was my first time trying it out. Next time I will try something a little more bold.

So tell me what you all think of this look and the whole jelly sandwich type look. I will be back in a couple days with a new manicure. Is there something you all would like to see? Let me know in the comments below.

Distressed jewel tone nails

I hooked up with lizzyprosser94 on instagram to do a jewel tone look. She did a makeup look and I did nails.

Here is how mine turned out:

I started with a purple base then using the dry brush technique I randomly added gold, metallic blue and a metallic pink. To add a bit more bling I added a clear gem at the base then coated the whole nail in a nice thick quick dry top coat.

Here is how Lizzy's turned out and I will add all of her links:

I really hope you all liked this collaboration. Please let me know what you all think below. I will talk to you all soon.

Black and blue

What's black and blue and marbled?
My nails...Lol
yes I changed my nail shape again
The best thing about this manicure is I used NO TOOLS! That's right kids I didn't use any nail art tools at all.
The polishes used are wet n wild black creme and sinful colors endless blue. I placed a blob of the the at the base of my nails then placed a blob of the blue over the other half of my nail. I wiped off any polish left on the brush and then kind of swirled the two colors together.
shorty short nails

I pulled away as much of the excess nail polish as I could then topped them with 2 coats of my quick dry top coat.  So that is that I really like how they came out let me know what you all think.

Until next time

Tie dye nails with roses

What's better then tie dye and roses? Hello putting them together so that's just what I did.

Using a makeup sponge I layered a pink, white, orange, white once more and a yellow polish and sponged it over one coat of white polish. I sponged over the nail twice and then added a top coat to blend the colors better.

Then on the ring finger I put on two coats of white polish and let it fully dry. Then I mixed the same colors I used for the other fingers with some polish remover and using a q-tip I made the rose shape. I finished up the roses with the polish full strength and a small nail art brush I added the detail to them. After adding the green leaves and letting it dry a it I added a layer of top coat and that's it.

Well I really hope you guys like this design as much as I do and I am 100% going to try roses again. That's all for now I will talk to you all later.

Tiffany leopard

I wanted something really simple and really pretty so of course with the help of  Pintrest and the hubby this is what I did.
I used wetnwild I need a refreshmint ,Sally Hansen in bittersweet and a random peachy nude color. For the leopard print I used a large dotting tool and I need a refreshmint , the smaller side of the dotting tool and bittersweet then I let them dry a bit and added a quick dry top coat then I was all done.

So I did the same design on my toes but I didn't take a picture if you all would like to see toe nail designs then please let me know and I will hook you all up. Well that's all for now folks I will talk to you all later.

Metallic Splatter nails

Since doing my Jason Halloween nails I have been wanting to try splatter nails in another way, so I did a metallic version and here is how it came out:
 I used:
a straw cut in 4 pieces
a sliver polish
a metallic green, yellow and purple polish

So there are somethings I learned doing this manicure that I would like to share with all of you lovely people.
1) It is very very messy and is a pain in the butt to clean up
2) Use either really thin nail polish or acrylic paint
3) Blow hard
4) Make sure your straw is covered
And finally 5) IT IS VERY VERY VERY MESSY so make sure to cover your area with something you don't mind getting polish on.

All in all I will defiantly be doing this type of manicure again once I get some acrylic paints that is. Here is just one more picture of my nails:

Let me know what you all think about this look. Is it something you would try? If so what colors would you use? I would love to see if any of you do this type of manicure. Well folks that's all for now talk to you all soon.

Spring Nails

Hello everyone it is spring time and it was time for me to reshape and redo my nails so I did and this is how they came out:

I knew 3 things going into this manicure:
1) I wanted to do a french tip
2) I wanted it to be a chevron tip
3) I wanted to use water decals

So the first thing I did was reshape my nails into more of an almond shape and less of an oval shape, then I used two costs of my favorite base coat and waited until the next day. I sometimes like to give my nails one or two days with nothing but base coat on. Now the next day/night I used a pink french base coat let that dry, then using a striping brush and a dark pink polish and made an X ,once that was dry I filled in the blank space with a white polish  and then add one coat of top coat.

Once the whole nail was dry I used some water decals I featured in this blog post and as I said in that post you need to have 100% dry nails before you apply the decals. If you all would like a full review/full photo line up of all the decals I have then please let me know in the comments below. Any way once I applied the decals to all 10 fingers I added one more coat of my qdtc (quick dry top coat) and I was done here is one more picture of the manicure:

I hope you all enjoy this manicure as much as I do and if there is something you would like to see then please let me know down below.

That's all for now folks ttyl,
xoxo Stephanie

Glow in the dark Moon phase nails

I have been seeing moon phase nails everywhere so when I saw these on pinterest I knew I had to give them a shot.

needed better clean up
omg they glow!
What I used:
Milani: Black swift
Kleancolor: White
Kleancolor: Metallic black
China Glaze: ghoulish glow
NYC: Matte me crazy

I started with a coat of the black then I used a ripped up makeup sponge, the metallic black and dabbed it in randoms places over my nail. Then using the white and a large dotting tool I made the different moon phase shapes. Once the moons were dry I again used the makeup sponge and the metallic black and dotted it over the moons. I then added a coat of my quick dry top coat and your done........ or so I thought

As I sat there looking at my done manicure I was happy but I wanted more for it. So I grabbed my glow in the dark polish and put it over the moons then I used my matte top coat and I was finally super happy with it.

Well folks there you have it my version of the popular Moon phase nails. I hope you all like them let me know what you think in the comments below.

Talk to you all later,

Easter Nails

Hello my name is Stephanie and I am addicted to pinterest.

So this time like always I had 10 or so Easter designs to pick from and after 2 days of asking him to pick one he did he picked this one.

This is how is turned out:

Playing with water decals

I got this pack of water decals from amazon.com and I "used" them once but failed horribly. But I am not one to give up so I tried them again and Omg they are so cute and so easy.
natural light
I started with a coat of Silver Sweep and let that dry which didn't take long since it was a quick dry polish. Honestly I would recommend using a quick drying polish, using a quick dry top coat and waiting 5 to 10 minutes or painting them the day before just to make sure your nails are 100% dry. Your nail polish will not fully dry with the decal over it.
photo light
So once my polish was dry I cut out the decals I wanted to use and removed the plastic film before setting them in a bowl of room temp water for 20 seconds, I then dipped my index finger in the water and slid the decal off the paper then patted it on to my nail. Once I was done I added a coat of Shine on crazy diamond and topped them off with a final coat of top coat then I was done. If you would like a video or pictures showing the decal application process then please let me know.

Well that's all for now folks I will talk to you all next time.

My nail maintenance

I only do nail maintenance about once a month I should probably do more but sometimes I just forget.
This is what I use:
And my holy grail base coat Orly nail armor

First I remove my nail polish then I use the cuticle remover. After washing my hands I reshape my nails and buff them and wash my hands once more. Then I use the coco and Shea butter on my nails and the skin around them. I rub that in and let it sit in a bit then I add two coats of my base coat on the nail, the free edge and the back of the nail.

After reshaping, buffing and two coats of nail armor

Well that's all for now folks I will talk to you all later.

Harley Quinn nails

Harley Quinn has always been one of my favorite Batman characters so it was only logical that I do a manicure inspired by her.
This is what I came up with:

I used red, black and white nail polish. For the white collar I used a double sided dotting tool . So the red would show up on the black I put down white first.

I think they came out ok there are some things that I will do differently next time I try this manicure out.
So what do you all think of it? Would you rock this manicure? If so I would love to see it.
That's all for now folks I will talk to you soon,

Bracelet inspired nails

So about 8 years ago when my husband was just my boyfriend he got me this beautiful wrap bracelet. I don't wear it that much anymore because it is strung on fishing line and I don't want my mini Hulk of a son to break it :)

I was cleaning out my jewelry box and thought hey these would be a super cute manicure for valentine's days  of just because. So here is how it turned out.

I just did the dots and rose the two main pieces of the bracelet.

For the rose I just used a little pink and the dark pink I painted my other nails with. if you want a tutorial on how I did the rose then please just let me know in the comments below.  I think that is all I want to say for now.... So if you like these and try them out yourself then I would love to see them . You can post a picture on my Facebook or tag me on Twitter or Instagram and use the #bewitchingnails so I can see them.

Saran wrap stone nails

I like the look of stone nails and I have been wanting to try a saran wrap manicure so I just combined them and this is what came out.

Here are the items I used:
Base coat, teal/turquoise polish, black polish, a gold/sliver chrome or metallic polish, saran wrap and top coat.

Using the black polish pant some on the plastic wrap stamp off the excess on some paper then stamp it rest on your dry nails.

like this
Then re-crumple the plastic wrap and repeat with your second color.
like this
Clean up and add top coat and you are done! Easy right?

On a side note this was my inspiration for the type of look I wanted

I really think they came out ok don't you ? :)

So if you want to try these babies out then I would love to see them. You can show me using my Facebook or on Twitter and Instagram tagging me and using the #bewitchingnails

Influenster Sally Hansen

I am a mom and pretty hard on my nails so when I got this box by Influenster which is a free service check out the website and sign up it is 100% free. So anyway as I was saying I am pretty hard on my nails and my manicures last anywhere from 3 to 4 days. I was really hoping that these polishes where the thing I needed for a long lasting manicure, since they say they are " chip resistant" and will "last for up to 10 days of wear".

Here are the pictures :)

one coat

two coats
Pat on the black is a beautiful purple/red color that only takes 2 coats
three coats of the red and teal
Red my lips and Jaded take 3 coats to be honest Jaded could use 4 but I just don't like using that many.
the brush
I love this brush it is wide and you can pretty much pain your whole nail in just one swipe. Now I didn't use a base coat or top coat because the product says you can do so.

So how long did they last without chipping?

Day one still looks good not so shiny but no chipping. A+ (full day after applying the night before)

Day 2 well not so good tow big chips on my thumb and some small chipping on my index finger. C (they get a C because they are still shiny)

So over all I give them a B just because of the shine.

Have any of you used the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polishes? If so what did you think? How long did they last for you?

Let me in the comments below and I will talk to you all next time.

Ttyl,
xoxo Stephanie
